Tax season opens on the 1st of July and you will soon start seeing SARS and accounting/tax firms advertising that you should file your income tax return for the 2017 year of assessment before the end of November. In our introduction to “Do you know what you don’t know”, we pointed out that taxpayers in general are not educated when it comes to their personal income tax. However, for personal income tax to be relevant for any individual you will either need to be a registered taxpayer or required to be a registered taxpayer.
